Numerical analysis of solar chimney power plant integrated with CH4 photocatalytic reactors for fighting global warming under ambient crosswind

Methane's global warming potential (GWP) is much larger than carbon dioxide and contributes significantly to warming. Solar chimney power plant (SCPP) integrated with photocatalytic reactors can capture remove atmospheric methane, generate electrical without fossil energy consumption simultaneously. In this paper, the performance of flow characteristics, CH4 removal, CO2 emission reduction, generation were analyzed for SCPP different types under ambient crosswind (ACW). The results revealed that a honeycomb reactor was more stable degradation plate reactor. With an increase in ACW, removal rate reduced constant value 0.41 g/s 0.11 achieved maximum 88.31 kW, which 1.63 times conventional when G = 857 W/m2 ACW 0 m/s. addition, improved could reduce emissions by 85.04 kg/h W/m2, m/s, △P 320 Pa.
